NLEP NAMES CHRISTINE WONG RAMBO VP OF COMMUNICATIONS & CORPORATE AFFAIRS

SHREVEPORT/MONROE, La. -- The North Louisiana Economic Partnership has announced the selection of former television news anchor and reporter Christine Wong Rambo as vice president of communications and corporate affairs. Rambo, who will join the NLEP on Jan. 25, is currently the marketing/communications specialist for the Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC).

Rambo will oversee marketing communications strategy for the organization including public relations, online and traditional advertising, investor relations and social media outreach.

"Christine brings a wealth of insight and experience to a critical role with the North Louisiana Economic Partnership," said Billy Cox, NLEP co-chairman. "We look forward to working with her to shape the communications and marketing efforts to our investors and potential customers around the globe."

"I am honored to be joining NLEP to help promote North Louisiana as a desirable place for business relocation, expansion and job creation. My experience with economic development, media and communications provide me a rich background to draw from as I begin my work with NLEP," said Rambo.

Rambo joined the LSBDC to oversee and coordinate state-wide marketing and communications for the network of ten centers dedicated to the formation and growth of small businesses. She has worked closely with Louisiana Economic Development, U.S. Small Business Administration, U.S. Senate Small Business Committee, and the Governor's Office to improve the awareness of LSBDC through effective branding and communications. Through these effective communication strategies and solid performance, LSBDC received a 30 percent increase from LED in its state funding at a time when the State was cutting budgets.

From 1994 to 2003, Rambo anchored and reported for KNOE in Monroe, La. and for KTBS in Shreveport, La., earning several awards for feature and investigative journalism.

NLEP is a non-profit regional economic development marketing organization serving 14 parishes in Northern Louisiana. Working from offices in Shreveport-Bossier and Monroe metro areas, NLEP promotes North Louisiana as a desirable and profitable business location. The NLEP and its many partners work with both existing companies and prospective employers to encourage incremental capital investment and job creation as a way to build a strong and thriving economy.
